The Plasma spraying process uses plasma forming gases (usually Argon and Hydrogen or Helium) as the heat source and also the propelling force. A high voltage arc struck between an anode and cathode within a specially designed spray gun excites the plasma gas by ionization. The excited gas is forced through a convergent/divergent nozzle. As the gas exits the nozzle it returns to its natural state liberating extreme heat. Powdered coating material is injected into the hot gas stream, in which it is melted and projected at high velocity onto a prepared substrate. The resultant coatings are well bonded and have exceptionally good integrity. CEEL Limited offers the following Thermal Spray services: View our thermal spray facilities. |
